Oracle Financials – Senior Developer
The Senior Programmer Analyst 2 is responsible for development and support of Oracle EBS Financial applications including General Ledger, Treasury, Payables; Oracle Apex applications; integration between Oracle e-Business Suite and cloud computing/SaaS applications such as NetSuite and RightNow. He/she will support integration and maintenance of third party vendor applications such as ADP Taxware, IBM Cogons, and Raiser's Edge. This position will oversee and lead the programming projects from requirements definition through implementation, following the steps outlined in the Information Technology Project Lifecycle Methodology (ITPLC). This position is very critical to business as these financial systems are required to operate on 2 4 X 7, and are used by approximately 50 people concurrently.
Essential functions include but are not limited to:
Gathering User Requirements - This position will need to do this task often as a part of the project cycle. This is the initial phase of any computer application process cycle. The Programmer Analyst needs to plan to discuss the business requirements with the end users (Organization Departments) in order to obtain the details. This will ensure that there is no gap between the business team's original understanding of the requirements and IT's perspective.
Analyzing user requirements and system impacts - The person in this position will use the requirements to find out the system impacts as a part of analysis phase. Some of the Analysis phase outcome are completeness, best practices, efficiency, presentation, type of user/s, type of interfaces, number of users and performance. System impacts need to be performed for User Requirements to ensure that the request does not impact other processes, other systems and other users. which is part of any computer application development cycle. Based on the analysis phase, a design document will need to be created that reflects the design of the application, system or the components that include the database, relationships, infrastructure and user interface etc.
Research and developments - The person in this position will be researching the best approach and options for implementation. He or she will have to review Oracle and other software knowledge bases/forums to better understand the possible solutions. He or she may also gain insight as to how others are implementing these types of requests. Development of the project includes the actual programming, configuration, set up, testing and regression.
Integration of ERP applications with Cloud Computing software - The person in this position will be develping the necessary integrations to and from Cloud Computing software like NetSuite, Right Now, etc…
Project management & Leadership - The person in this position will be responsible for IT life cycle from project initiation phase through deployment. He or she will have a lead role in some of the IT projects. The project management skills along with IT Project Life Cycle practice are essential elements that this person in this position must adhere in order to efficiently lead any IT project. This person needs to be self motivated and have ability to motivate the team members along the project life cycle. This person needs to be good communicator with all level of managements. This person needs to provide project status at a summary level to top managements and at the detail levels to his peer level and others. This person should be able to estimate IT projects based on requested requirements, technical staff capabilities, technology, and the existing business policies and processes.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Mathematics, or equivalent computer training is required. A minimum of 7 years design and development experience in the following technologies used at the client: Oracle EBS Financials 11.5.10 and R1 2 , Oracle Application Express, Java, Oracle database, SQL, PL/SQL, UNIX , BI Publisher, OA Framework, Oracle Forms and Reports.
Strong knowledge of some of the following Oracle modules is required: AR, GL, AP, PO, FA, iExpense and iProcurement. Experience with Oracle open interfaces, APIs, Application Developer, Alert, System Administrator, Workflow and Self-Service Web Apps is required. Knowledge of Unix is required.
Prior experience with cloud computing/SaaS applications and data integration with Oracle Applications is strongly preferred. Experience with Oracle EBS R1 2 is a plus.
The candidate should possess strong analytical, design and problem solving skills. Good communication, interpersonal and leadership skills are required. Must be a technologically savvy knowledge worker who seeks out technology solutions to business challenges. Technical proficiencies should include solid programming experince that demonstrate the usage of IT Methodology Process Cycle. The candidate should be to work on IT projects independently and as a team.
